Welcoming, kindhearted family in OAK LAWN is seeking a FT Nanny to join their family!

Family has one child: 3-year-old girl. They aim to create a home environment that is supportive, kind, and encouraging, filled with open communication and a good balance of structure / go with the flow. Their daughter has autism, and it’s important to them that their caregiver is committed to fostering a space that is neurodiversity-affirming: celebrating their daughter for who she is, taking time to meet her where she’s at, encouraging her curiosity, and reveling in the joy of each day with her! We are seeking a candidate who has prior experience with neurodiverse children and is passionate about their work. It’s also key that this person takes an active interest when it comes to working (and learning) alongside the family’s in-home therapists—a speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist. Someone who is empathetic, patient, energetic, and flexible/adaptable, as well as a strong communicator and eager collaborator. Family has one small dog.

Long-term commitment, minimum of 1 year but ideally much longer.

REQUIREMENTS:  Must have prior experience with neurodiverse children. Up to date on Tdap, Covid, and flu vaccines. Dog-friendly. Reliable personal vehicle.

START:  ASAP. Flexible for the right fit!

SCHEDULE:  Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Guaranteed set weekly pay for 40 hours per week.

DUTIES:  Child’s laundry, rotating clothes for the season, general home organization, etc. Maintaining tidy common areas, cleaning up after mealtimes. Open to broader levels of support, as needed. Their daughter is in a short preschool program in the mornings, which will give their nanny time to accomplish some of these additional tasks.

PAY:  $28-35/hour, gross, depending on experience. $1,120-1,400/week, before taxes, for 40 hours per week.
