National Nanny Recognition Week 2020

IT’S HERE!

National Nanny Recognition Week.

This year in 2020, we’re celebrating the week of September 20-26.

There is no denying how important and special Nannies are to many families. For the last 22 years (and counting), the last week in September has been used to honor Nannies across the United States.

It is not just the extra set of hands, but the special ways in which Nannies go above and beyond to lovingly support the families that they connect with.

For Nannies, NNRW means [virtually] celebrating with your Nanny peers, high-fiving and cheers’ing to memories, accomplishments, survived meltdowns and more. It means spreading positivity on Nanny Facebook groups and making new friends to arrange play dates with. It means sending your Nanny-friend a text or buying them a coffee to show them some love.

For Families, it is a great opportunity for you to show some *extra* appreciation and admiration for your fellow teammate. After all, you love your Nanny and want to keep them — a little ‘THANK YOU’ can go a long way!

What can you do to celebrate your Nanny for National Nanny Recognition Week?

  1. Write them a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ note.

Be specific — “Thank you for inspiring B in the way that you come to work with healthy veggies. We know very well that it was YOU that got him eating broccoli!

  2. Have the kids make a homemade craft.

*Cue the tears*. There is nothing better than squiggly drawings and handprints from our favorite little ones. Find a way to make it personal. Your Nanny will treasure it forever.

  3. $$$

Ok, obviously… but be creative! How about a gas card, a Health Insurance Stipend, credits toward something like ClassPass, a gift card to a nail salon, or luxurious skincare brand.

  4. Give them an extra day off.

The only thing better than an extra day off work, is receiving it as a surprise!

  5. Box of “Self-Care”.

Think: Sheet masks, gua sha tools, satin sleep mask, fuzzy slippers, rose oil facial spray, silk pillow case.
