Need Support with Remote Learning?

With cases of coronavirus rising in many areas the country, school districts have spent the last several months trying to evaluate the best approaches with schooling.

”How do we help students succeed, while also keeping everyone safe?”

As of September 1st, the Illinois State Board of Education reports that:

“out of 848 local school districts and 4,048 schools in Illinois, 31% of schools are remote, 42% are blending in-person and virtual learning, and 28% are planning full in-person instruction”.

It is no surprise that working parents, especially those with school-aged children, are struggling.

We empathize for everyone involved and we have been working tirelessly to come up with a solution. Our goal has been to develop a win-win situation to both accommodate families and to support nannies/educators with set framework and expectations.

Introducing: Learning Coaches©.

Learning Coaches© are professionals that work directly in-home with a PART-TIME schedule, to help to accomplish 2 main objectives:

  1. Facilitate remote learning and help child/children to accomplish any tasks given by their school.

  2. Supplement their schooling with any additional enrichment in the form of a customized curriculum (such as hands-on material, projects, worksheets, “weekly themes”, local field trips, nature exploration, etc.)

We believe that it takes a village and having a Learning Coach© can help take the pressure off of parents who are trying to juggle Zoom calls alongside their full-time jobs.

For a better glance at our Learning Coaches© service, we are happy to answer some important questions:

what if I’m looking for a FT nanny and would benefit from a PT learning coach©?

Ah-ha! This is where a Nanny + LC comes in. This role combines the duties of both a professional Nanny and a Learning Coach©. We have plenty of candidates that are willing to work both as a Nanny and as a Learning Coach© and have the skill set to do so. From a COVID-risk standpoint, it is also favorable to have one professional in your home vs. multiple people (nanny, tutor, babysitter, private educator).

How does the process work?

We will help to narrow down your best-fit Learning Coach© with our simple, step-by-step process.

  1. Fill out a family application.

  2. We’ll email you information on expectations and industry standards, and share with you our calendar to schedule a video family consultation.

  3. After discussing the details in the consultation, we will kickstart the search.

  4. We will narrow it down to the top 2-3 candidates for your family and send you their “Nanny Harmony profiles”. We’ll arrange video interviews with you and these candidates.

  5. With whomever is your favorite, we’ll set up an in-person trial visit with that candidate.

  6. After a successful trial, we’ll help you put together an employment offer in the form of a contract.

  7. The candidate accepts your offer and—ta-daaa! You’re smooth sailing with a committed, reliable Learning Coach©.

How many families can share a learning coach©?

Learning Coaches© are best-suited with 1 or 2 families.

What can I expect as their hourly rate?

The average pay rate for Learning Coaches© during teaching hours is $25-30/hour. We recommend +$5/hour for each additional child. If you hire a Nanny + LC which is the combination of a Nanny and Learning Coach in a full-time schedule, you would compensate this person at their nanny rate for the majority of their hours, and at their Learning Coach© rate for their time spent teaching. As with any of our placements, we require families to guarantee a “weekly rate” rather than on an paying hourly basis. We are here to assist with calculating an appropriate weekly rate for your Learning Coach©, and/or Nanny + LC.

what is the commitment level of a learning coach©?

Learning Coaches© have the ability to commit to either 1 semester, or the full school year. However, Nanny + LC candidates are generally hired on as long term, i.e. a minimum of 1 year.

what is the placement fee for learning coaches© and nanny+LC’s?

Click here to visit our Services page for a breakdown of the pricing for each option.

Note: There is a non-refundable $400 Application Fee to start the search process. This fee gets applied toward the final Placement Fee. The Placement Fee is charged at the time of hire.
